Description
?This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command.? The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport intends to solicit diving services for the Narragansett Bay Shallow Water Test Facility. A five year Indefinite Quantity with firm fixed priced provisions contract is planned with an estimated start date of October 1, 2004. Anticipated tasks include: (1) Light Support (estimated at 50 days per year) providing and operating a dive team and related equipment consisting of 2 divers and 1 diving supervisor, SCUBA or surface air supply in less than 120 feet water depth, underwater communications system, lights, jetting pump & hose, lift bags, incidental equipment and a small vessel (i.e. 4-man RIB) which can be launched on the Navy ramp or by crane at NUWC Stillwater Basin; (2) Still and Video Survey Support (estimated at 15 days per year) providing surface supplied dive team personnel and equipment and additional equipment and operator to provide digital documentation from still cameras and real time closed circuit TV with digital recording; (3) Heavy Support (estimated at 2 days per year)provide personnel and equipment described in Light Support task plus a decompression chamber and equipment to support surface supplied diving in depths >100 feet of water off a government furnished vessel; (4) Cable Jetting Support (estimated at 10 days per year) providing a 3 person dive team and surface air supply system, underwater communications systems, lights, heavy duty jetting pump & hose and incidental equipment to perform small diameter cable jetting in water up to 100 feed depth live-boating off a navy supplied vessel; and (5) Consultant and Minor Material and Travel (estimated at 80 hours per year). The estimated Level of Effort is 9,204 hours. Federal Acquisition Regulation, FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items will be utilized for this acquisition. This procurement is 100% Set Aside for Small business. Estimated RFP release date is 6/24/04. See Note 1. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form.
