Description
The U. S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns only. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The acquisition is for the dryocking and repair to the USCGC KNIGHT ISLAND (WPB 1348), a 110 Foot ?C? Class Patrol Boat. The work will be performed at the contractor?s facility. The performance period is for 42 days. This work is such as, but not limited to: Welding Repairs , Clean Fuel and Waste Oil Tanks, Clean Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts, Inspect Bronze Sleeves in Various Shaft Packing Areas, Renew Water Lubricated Propeller Shaft Bearings, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propellers, Repair Propeller Root Erosion, Clean and Inspect Heat Exchangers, Preserve Transducer Hull Rings, Renew Valves, Inspect and Overhaul Duplex Sea Strainers, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies, Overhaul Stabilizing Fins, Clean & Repair Sewage and Grey Water Piping System, Preserve Forward Peak Compartment, Preserve Bilge Surfaces In Forward Auxiliary Space, Renew Hull Plating, Preserve and Disinfect Potable Water Tanks, Preserve Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks, Preserve Underwater Body, Preserve Aluminum Mast, Insulate and Preserve Aft Steering Space, Preserve Bilge Surfaces In Aft Steering Compartment, Insulate and Preserve Battery Space, Preserve Bilge Surfaces in the Battery Space Compartment, Renew Floating Deck in Galley and Mess deck, Renew Deck Covering Systems, Preserve Freeboard, Inspect and Maintain Cathodic Protection System, Renew Capastic Fairing, Provide Temporary Logistics, Routine Drydocking, Modify Flooding Alarm Panel (EC No.110-C-073), Improve Ventilation In Aft Berthing Compartment , (EC No.110-C-085), Install Spray Rail Extensions (EC No.110-C-087), Install New Type Shaft Seal Assemblies (EC No.110-C-089), Install New HVAC Equipment (EC No.110-C-090), Renew Windows, Install Stern Flap (EC No.110-C-087), Install New Aft Fuel Tank Access Manholes , (EC No.110-C-091), Fabricate and Install New Oily Water Tank Access (EC No.110-C-092), Create Forward Peak Void (EC No.110-C-094). All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. At the present time, the acquisition is expected to be issued under full and open competition procedures. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUBZone certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by e-mail to manderson@mlca.uscg.mil or by fax (757)628-4675/76. In your response you must include: (a) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers. (c) past performance references with points of contact and phone numbers. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by July 2, 2004. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZone set aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted at www.eps.gov.
