- Description
- The National Institutes of Health, National Institute on Aging, Gerontology Research Center, Intramural Research Program intends to negotitate on a sole source basis with Dr. Richard Lane, Professor of Psychiatry for project entitled "Emotion Recognition in a Life-Span Sample". The vendor will recruit, enroll and test a healthy community sample of 380 subjects, equally divided between men and women, 5 age groups spanning the age range 18-80 and three socioeconomic classes. Administer and score the Perception of Affect Task (PAT). The PAT consists of four 35-item emotion recognition subtasks: matching sentences and words, faces and words, sentences and faces, and faces and photographs of scenes. The stimuli in each subtask consist of seven emotions (happy, sad, anger, fear, disgust, surprise and neutral) depicted five times each. Recognition accuracy can be evaluated within four subtasks or across the seven emotion categories.
