Description
Eglin AFB, FL has a requirement to Provide/Install Fire Suppression System for Hangars 3020 and 3029, which will be the base bid. An Option 1 item will consist of Provide/Install Above-Ground Storage Tanks. THIS IS A ?TRADE-OFF? (PERFORMANCE PRICE TRADE-OFF) ACQUISITION. THIS ACQUISITION IS UNRESTRICTED. Award will be made based upon the ?Best Value? to the Government in accordance with FAR 15.3. The Government reserves the right to award a contract to other than the lowest proposed price. This project includes furnishing all plant, materials, labor, equipment, supervision, and performing all operations in connection with the Provide/Install Fire Suppression System for Hangars 3020 and 3029, located at Eglin AFB, FL. It is the declared and acknowledged intention and meaning to provide Fire Suppression Systems for Hangars 3020 and 3029. In general, the work will consist of low level high expansion foam systems with overhead wet pipe systems in the hangar bays and outside civil work to provide the water to the hangars. The unprotected office and supply spaces will have a new wet pipe system. A new packaged fire pump house will be provided to serve both hangars and an Option 1 to install aboveground storage tanks. The project includes new electrical service to pump house and upgrades to existing building fire alarm systems. Solicitation issue date of 12 July 2004 is only an estimated date in which the Government reserves the right to cancel the solicitation, either before or after the closing date. Interested bidders are expected to visit the areas of work and verify all conditions and dimensions. Estimated dollar range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Performance period is 303 calendar days. The category of work will be listed under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 238990, All Other Specialty Trade Contractors. Prospective contractors must be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a government contract. Offerors are further advised that failure to register in the CCR database will render your firm ineligible for award. Recommend registering immediately in order to be eligible for award. PLEASE NOTE: Funds are not presently available for this project. No award will be made under this solicitation until funds are available. All responsible offerors may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. This is a paperless acquisition. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be issued, but the Request for Proposal will be available on the Federal Government?s Electronic Posting System (www.eps.gov). No response to this notice is necessary, and no Source List will be maintained.
