Description
WORK REQUIREMENT: Contractor will serve as an Interior Designer for the Sacramento District Corps of Engineers in Sacramento, California, for assignments that involve performance of office and field interior design duties including in-house design, review projects designed by Architect-Engineer firms and resolution of interior design problems encountered during project construction; and support for equipment procurement contracts. Projects included but not limited to libraries, dining facilities, tr aining facilities, visitor centers, as well as other administrative and public use buildings for the USACE. Prepare cost estimates and schedules for development of interior design studies and documents. Responsible for developing complete Comprehensive I nterior Design (CID) packages for assigned projects, incorporating the most recent technology as it relates to design, equipment systems and constructions techniques. Prepare complete interior design drawings and documents in compliance with governing cri teria and project requirements. Drawings may include floor plans, (Herman Miller systems furniture) related plans, interior elevations, sections, details and perspectives, and finish schedules. Will develop associated quantity take-offs and cost estimate s. Combine functional and aesthetic features to blend exiting structures, functional operating requirements and environment. Provide information for coordination with architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical designs. Prepares interior design analysis and specifications related to pre-wired workstations, Herman Miller systems furniture, interior finishes and features. Prepare all or portions of Structural Interior Design (SID) plans for building projects, including finishes, textures, colors and interior and exterior color boards. The contractor will prepare equipment (Herman Miller systems furniture) procurement packages to accompany building design document to include detailed furnishing and equipment layouts, schedules, power and communica tion requirements, functional needs, cost estimates, specifications, procurement documents and placement plans. Work will require some presence in the Government office in downtown Sacramento, California. It is estimated that the contractor will be requ ired to work approximately three days a week, 8 hours a day. The work will require some travel. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Skills/Experience: a. Experience with full range of interior design duties as stated above in Work Requirement. b. Experience with producing installation drawings, labor estimates, new product quotes, writing scopes of work for required communications, electrical, HVAC requirements. c. Experience with small to large furniture layouts and overseeing furniture installation. d. One year of experience (within the last two years) with Interior Design using Herman Miller furniture and products. e. Must possess one year of experience (within the last two years) with Interior Design computer software - Auto CAD and CAP 2 Designer software. 2. Educational/Professional Requirements: a. Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Interior or Architectural Design or a related field from an accredited college or university or four years minimum of qualified education and experience combined. b. Allied or professional status (or eligible) for ASID, IIDA, or CCIDC member. The responses must be specific to each of the qualifications listed above to sh ow that the respondent meets each qualification or has the skills and experience; if a response does not show that the respondent meets each of the qualifications and possesses the skills and experience, it will not be considered by the Government. Again, this is not a request for competit ive proposals or quotations; there is no solicitation available at this time. A determination by the Government to proceed with the acquisition as (UNRESTRICTED, SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS, HUB-ZONE, OR UNDER THE 8(A) PROGRAM) is within the discretion o f the Government. All responses are due to the US Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District, ATTENTION: Jerri Medeiros CESPK-CT, 1325 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95814-2922, not later than 12 JULY 2004. This Procurement will be conducted under FSC Code: R499, SIC Code: 7389, NAICS Code: 541410. The size standard for this code is $6,000,000.00. To be a Small Business under this NAICS Code, the respondents average revenue for the last three fiscal years c annot be more than $6,000,000; if the average revenue for the last three fiscal years is over $6,000,000, the respondent is a Large Business. It is imperative that all respondents, in the response to this notice, must ALSO identify their business size rel ative to the NAICS code. Respondents are required to state in their response whether the firm is a large business, small business, 8(a) program participant, HubZone, small disadvantaged business, woman-owned, veteran-owned business, or service disabled ve teran-owned business.
