Description

This is an unrestricted procurement and is open to both small and large business concerns. The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System has a requirement for a special needs transportation service comprising of shuttle transportation pickup and delivery of lab specimens and patient care transport (door to door. Patient care areas (i.e. hospital bed or clinic) to patient care area (nursing home, hospital facilities, halfway house, etc.) VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System is comprised of three (3) facilities as follows: (1) University Drive Division; (2) H. J. Heinz Division; and (3) Highland Drive Division. Transports will be intra-facility between the three (3) facilities to other healthcare and or social services institutions. Majority of transports will reside in southwestern Pa; northern WVA; and eastern OH. Most riders will be VA hospital patients; wheelchair patients; ambulatory patients; elderly and some feeble and weak requiring assistance in and out of buildings and vehicles. The solicitation RFP#244-04-00399 may be downloaded on the following website: http://www.bos.oamm.va.gov/cgi-bin/WebObjects/BosPublic.woa. The offeror is further responsible to download all amendments and other documents from the BOS website without further notices from the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. Estimated contract period is September 1, 2004 thru August 31, 2005 with two (2) one-year renewals at the option of the Government. A pre-proposal conference will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 10:00AM in Building #4, Conference Room #373-E of the Highland Drive Division. All interested parties are encouraged to attend this preproposal conference. Proposals are due by close of business (COB) on August 2, 2004. All interested offerors will be required to complete and submit evaluation criteria information as outlined in the solicitation.
