Description

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Division of Visitor Services and Communications, is hereby announcing a requirement for the development of content, graphic design, and authoring of a new sign manual for the USFWS. Phase I of this project has been completed. Phase I involved determining the current signage throughout the USFWS. Phase II (the current requirement) is to design a new USFWS signage system. Contractor services shall include: (1) designing and developing visual drawings for a USFWS signage system. The types of signs include, but are not limited to identification, safety, motorist guidance, traffic regulatory, parking control; (2) preparing full size panel mock-ups for each sign; (3) preparing schematic fabrication drawings and layout grids for each sign type; (4) preparing a recommended program management plan; (5) preparing and outlining schematic designs for sign structures and material specifications and assembly drawings for uprights, supports, mounting systems and hardware by type of sign; and (6) preparing a written manual in digital form for all the above signage which prescribes signage design and construction and installation standards, complete with diagrams and drawings, principally for identifications, way finding and visual information signs. Signage related to vehicular information and traffic control must comply with U.S. Department of Transportation's Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The period of performance will be from the date of award through December 2005. The NAICS Code is 541990 and the business size is $6.0 million.
