Description

NOTICE OF INTENT. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Contracts Office intends to award with only one source to Cascade Designs, Inc., Seattle, WA 98134-2301, a contract to develop and fabricate a prototype system called the 100 oz. Breakaway Plus Water Carriage System. This is a new set of requirements that will lead into the future of NBC compliant hydration bladders and carriers for producing an on the move water carriage system for the Marine Corps. This is a follow-on effort to the current contract Cascade Designs Inc. has to fabricate prototypes of man portable modular device called Independent, Individual Water Carriage System (IIWCS) for the Marine Corps. The IIWCS will provide the ability to filter and disinfect all fresh water sources in the field while meeting the block II requirements for the Individual Water Purifier (IWP). The 100 oz. Breakaway Plus Water Carriage System must interface with the proprietary disinfection (MIOX technology) and filtration (MSR pre and post filters) technologies which meet the IWP block II requirements and are incorporated into the IIWCS. Cascade Designs, Inc. is the only responsible source and has the Exclusive License Rights to manufacture the MIOX disinfection system and MSR filters. No other supplies or services will meet the Government?s requirement. This will be awarded on a Firm Fixed Price using the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. See Note 26.
