- Description
- The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA has a requirement for DRY DOCK and repairs. This acquisition is for DRY DOCK and repair for NOAA Ship THOMAS JEFFERSON, a 208 foot, 45 ft beam (molded); 12ft 6 in draft, propulsion - diesel Single screw, electric 350 kw, 225/450 volts AC; crew size ? 26, cruising speed of 12 knots. Vessel's homeport is Norfolk, VA. All work will be performed at contractor's facility. The performance period will be 60 calendar days with a start date on or about January 4, 2005 and shall be completed on or before March 7, 2005. Basic and Optional contract items include but are not limited to temporary services; dry docking and routine dry dock work; bow thruster install and associated upgrades; compressed air system upgrades; tank level indication system upgrade; moving vessel profiler installation; aft 01-deck modifications; MSD system briner installation; mast modifications preparation and preservation; stability test support; walk-in refrigeration system door overhauls; space 02-40-2 furniture modifications; space 01-34-2 conversion; ADCP transducer installation; HSL davit system overhaul & repair; misc steel renewals; misc piping repairs; fire pump motor overhaul; fire/bilge/ballast pump & motor overhaul; meter calibration machinery space exhaust fan motor overhaul; ships ventilation system cleaning; reduction gear and coupling inspection; potable water transfer pump renewal; auxiliary sea water system upgrades; plumbing & drain system flushing. Foreseeable costs will be applied for contract evaluation. All work shall be performed in accordance with detailed specifications number MOA2-02 (04), dated July 2004 and NOAA standard specifications, to be provided with the solicitation. Vessel will be available for inspection August 8, 2004 in Alexandria, VA and August 20 & 23, 2004 in Boston, MA. At the present time, this acquisition will be issued as a RFP under the CASCADING PROCUREMENT STRATEGY, therefore if a minimum of two (2) offers from qualified small business concerns are received for the services/supplies specified within the solicitation, the Government reserves the right to set aside for small business the award. If two or more small business offers are not received, the award will be made on the basis of full and open competition from among all responsible businesses submitting offers. To be eligible for award, offerors must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR): www.ccr.gov and obtain (and provide with the offer) a DUNS number by calling 1-800-333-0505.
