Description
This project is the Kigalia Point Mine Reclamation, which is part of the Monticello Ranger District Abandon Uranium Mine Closure projects. This proposal includes reopening the access road, closing 1 vent shaft, closing 2 mine pits and reclaiming the facilities roads at this abandoned uranium mine. The vent would be closed by placing a polyurethane foam plug at the top and covering it with soil. The pit closures will include removing abandoned equipment and associated structures, removing and reshaping waste rock piles, relcaiming roads, and revegetating the disturbed area. The project has a Government estimate between $100,000-$250,000. There is a tentative show-me trip scheduled for July 30,2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Shirt Tail Junction gas stations located at the junction of State Highway 95 and U.S. HIghway 191 approximately 3 miles south of the town of Blanding, Utah. Four wheel drive vehicles are recommended for travel to the work site and be prepared for an all day tour. All perspective bidders and subcontractors are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-bid because of the special nature of abandoned mine closure work. The approximate posting date for the solicitation and applicable drawings/maps will be July 22, 2004 to this same website. Proposals will be due on August 23, 2004 @ 4:30 p.m.
