Description
The Government intends to purchase the following item sole source from TLD ACE (00365) the only known approved source. TLD ACE is the only manufacturer of this dual voltage refrigerant compressor which will satisfy form, fit, and function of the TLD ACE end item ACE-410 Flight line Air Conditioner. Item description: Noun: Refrigerator Compressor; NSN: 4120-01-153-0996RN; PN: 1004431; Period of Performance: Basic ? One year, Option ? 3 years; Basic Qty: 2 EA; Option Qty: 1-5; weight 999 pounds, 8 cylinder piston type R-134a refrigerant, 73.6 horsepower. Functional Description: Refrigerant compressors are designed specifically for air conditioning, heat pumping, and refrigeration. Small, stand-alone compressors are not included within this group. Refrigerant compressors are large ?scale units specifically designed to be the heart of an industrial cooling or air-conditioning system (HVAC). They are integral components of the refrigerant cycle, in which refrigerant gases are cyclically evaporated and condensed, absorbing heat from the load to be cooled, and moved to an open environment where it is dissipated. The compressor serves two main functions: to compress low pressure, low gases into high pressure and temperature gases, and to remove vapors from the evaporator to maintain a low boiling point.
