Description

The work consists of cutting trees to thin overly dense timber stands to promote forest health and reduce fuel hazard conditions. The project has an estimated 96 acres of precommercial thinning, an estimated 57 acres of tree planting, an estimated 260 acres of fuels reduction, less than 1 mile of road construction and decommissioning and the commercial harvest of an estimated 661 thousand board feet (661 MBF) of timber over a three year period. The contractor will be given title to specified timber in exchange for the fuel treatment and forest health improvement work. The Stewardship Project site is located near Cove, Oregon in the Vale District of BLM, Oregon. Bonds are required: Performance Bond, 20%. This solicitation will be posted electronically. Paper copies are no longer available. Estimated issue date is July 23, 2004.
