Description

TRAWL RESISTANT BOTTOM MOUNTS: The United States Geological Survey intends to issue an order under other than full and open competition to Mooring Systems, Inc 1227 Rt 28A Cataumet, MA 02534. The purpose of this acquisition is to purchase three trawl-resistant bottom mount systems, four Benthos acoustic releases, and one Benthos deck unit. The Trawl-resistant bottom mount must weigh less than 12lbs to help protect the enclosed electronic systems and allow recovery. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. See note 22.
