Description

The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) of Little Rock, AR intends to negotiate sole source procurement with Bio-Safe America Corporation of San Ana, CA for Horizontal Laminar Flow System with Cooling Unit, Stock Number HLF-2066 (Sterilaire Med. Div.). The purchase of the equipment is used when total hip and total knee cases are being performed in our surgical suite (Directional Hepa/ulpa filter unit for super clean air ). The Laminar Flow System has two motors, capacity of 15,000 BTUH, removes approximately 10,000BTUH of heat generated by this system and the remaining capacity could be used to assist the hospitals air conditioning system in cooling the room down, up to 4 degree. The standard motors for a Sterilaire Laminar Flow System are totally enclosed 2.0 or 3.0 H.P., surgery rated, 1,750 RPM motors. The equipment and software upgrade are the only products that will meet CAVHS needs, as it must interface with existing proprietary government-owned equipment. Bio-Safe America Corporation will also provide service and maintenance of the equipment and on-site installation and training. This commercial item procurement is being conducted under FAR 6.302-1. The NAICS Code is 333999 and BOS note 22 applies to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. Parties that believe they can meet the requirement must supply information about their capabilities no later than 7/21/04, 2:00 pm CST. No Solicitation will be made available and information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This solicitation is a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE.
