- Description
- Description: The Government has a requirement to procure an Integrated Sighting Module (ISM) and an Advanced Magnified Optic (AMO). The ISM addresses the need of combat forces for a single, integrated aiming device to acquire and engage targets on t he battlefield with reflexive firing at close ranges and precision firing out to the effective ranges of the M4, M16, and the XM8 Baseline and Special Compact variants. The ISM is a unity magnified optical sight with integrated red dot and near infrared ( NIR) aiming and fixed focus illuminating lasers. The red dot and the NIR lasers shall be co-aligned and shall adjust for azimuth and elevation using a common adjustment mechanism with no special tools. The AMO addresses the need of combat forces for a si ngle, integrated aiming device to acquire and engage targets on the battlefield with reflexive firing at close ranges and precision firing out to the effective ranges of the M4, M16, and the XM8 Designated Marksman/Automatic Rifle variant. The AMO is a 4x magnification optical sight with integrated red dot and NIR aiming and variable focus illuminating lasers. The NIR aiming pointer on the ISM and AMO shall have a range of 600m in low power and 2000m in high power. Additionally, both sights shall utilize a common commercial battery, e.g. AA or 123. This effort will be solicited as Sole Source to Insight Technology, Inc., Londonderry, NH for an award of a Firm Fixed Price contract for the production of up to 16,000 ISMs and AMOs for a contract term of 24 months.
