- Description
- Notice of Intent: Concerns having the ability to furnish the following supplies are requested to give written notification, including, a telephone number for a POC to the acquisition office listed in this notice within 5 calendar days from the date of synopsis. GENERAL: The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) has a requirement for proprietary two-dimensional (2D) seismic reflection data license from seismic reflection datasets, and field data reproduction of digital data, geometry data, and observer's notes provided by Seismic Exchange, Inc. BACKGROUND: Two-dimensional (2D) seismic reflection data are required to locate and characterized thrust faults located near Black Rock Dam to estimate ground shaking and surface faulting hazards associated with earthquakes occurring on these thrust faults and associated structures. Based on the project's thrust faulting imaging requirements, minimum seismic reflection data requirements are as follows: (a) The seismic reflection data must have been acquired using field geometries suitable to image thrust faults beneath the Rattlesnake Hills and Yakima Ridge in the vicinity of Black Rock Dam and its reservoir's inundated area. (b) The seismic reflection data must have been acquired using a 24-fold or greater acquisition geometry with 2D receiver intervals not greater than a nominal 150 foot spacing and 2D source intervals not exceeding 300 foot spacing and total (correlated, when vibratory sources are used) time record lengths of 4 seconds or more. Nominal spacing is acceptable because sometimes receiver and/or source positions must be occasionally skipped to comply with local permitting requirements. Four seismic reflection datasets exist that might meet the above requirements and are available for licensing exclusively from Seismic Exchange, Inc. Therefore, it is Reclamation's belief that Seismic Exchange, Inc. is the only source capable in providing the supplies based on the facts above. This is not a formal solicitation. However, concerns that respond shall provide detailed data concerning their capabilities and may request to receive a copy of the solicitation when, and if it becomes available. This notice may represent the only official notice of such a solicitation.
