Description
The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Washington Detachment, intends to award a sole-source contract to RADARSAT INTERNATIONAL INC., of CANADA. The Gatineau Satellite Station shall provide to the Naval Ice Center, Washington, DC, Processed Synthetic aperture Radar (SAR) images from the Canadian space Agency?s Radarsat Satellite. Each image will be earth located using the best orbit parameters available but with a location uncertainty not to exceed 2km. The delivery format is the CSA interpretation of the Committee for Earth Observation Science format. Data requests from the Naval Ice Center will be processed through the Alaskan Sar Facility (ASF). The processed SAR image data will be made available to the Naval Ice center within six (6) hours of each designated satellite pass using existing communication circuits between the Naval Ice Center and Gatineau (i.e., the internet and its standard protocol). Through Radarsat International (RSI), all items relating to Disclaimer of Warranty and Limited Warranty are assumed to be in accordance with the standard RSI License Agreement terms and conditions. A Justification and Approval for Other Than Full and Open Competition has been prepared. The period of performance is anticipated to be from October 1, 2004 to September 30, 2005, with four (4) one-year options. The SIC Code is 9661. See Note 22. Solicitation number N00600-05-Q-0001 will be available approximately 9 July 2004 and can be downloaded from http://www.neco.navy.mil. The solicitation may be processed following normal commercial item procedures. The Government may award on initials.
