Description
THIS SOLICITATION IS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES SET-ASIDE ONLY. NASA/MSFC IS SEEKING SMALL BUSINESSES WITH BRAZING CAPABILITIES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION/COMPLETION OF THE FOLLOWING PRODUCTS, DRAWINGS ARE ATTACHED WITH SPECIFICATIONS: 1.) QUANTITY 20 NEEDED: Qty 10 will be 99.8% alumina and the other Qty 10 will be 96% alumina.Braze ceramic plug to molybdenum coupler that is secured to graphite element. Brazed joint must be able to withstand 1000 degrees C continuous. See drawing SK05172004. Braze ceramic plug to stainless steel tube. Brazing to be done in a helium atmosphere at 24 psi absolute. Brazed joint must be able to withstand 1000 degrees C continuous. See drawing SK05172004. Insert 11-gage bare copper wire into molybdenum coupler. Braze 11-gage copper wire to molybdenum coupler. Brazed joint must be able to withstand 800 degrees C continuous. See drawing SK05172004. 2.) Qty 45 Braze ceramic plug to molybdenum coupler that is secured to graphite element. Brazed joint must be able to withstand 700 degrees C continuous. See drawing SK05182004. Insert 11-gage bare copper wire into molybdenum coupler. Braze 11-gage copper wire to molybdenum coupler. Brazed joint must be able to withstand 700 degrees C continuous. See drawing SK05182004. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) no later than 7/23/2004 TO JANET.APPLETON@MSFC.NASA.GOV. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the attached drawings.
