- Description
- Project 502-302. Furnish all labor, material and equipment to Expand Nursing Home, Building no. 45 at VA Medical Center, Alexandria, Louisiana. This procurement is reserved for Hub-zone small business concerns. Offers from other than Hub-zone small business concerns will not be considered, see Note No. 27. Furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, and warranties to construct a two-story expansion of approximately 20,000 gross square feet to the c-wing of building 45 at the VA Medical Center, Alexandria, LA. The work shall include but not limited to the construction of 20 two bed patient rooms, semi-private patient baths and toilets, patient congregate baths, staff and public toilets, nurses? stations, staff break rooms, medication rooms, nourishment kitchens, assorted support storage spaces, a barbershop and administrative offices and a mechanical penthouse shall be constructed. In addition to the building, approximately 33,000 square feet of concrete parking areas shall be constructed. Sidewalks and landscaping associated with the addition shall be constructed. All to be done in strict accordance with plans, specifications and schedules. Construction cost range $2,000,000 to $5,000,000. Completion time 465 calendar days. Ninety calendar day proposal acceptance period required, award is subject to availability of funds. Solicitation documents and applicable drawings will be made available not earlier than 8-2-04 and will be available for downloading from the website http://www.bos.oamm.va.gov/ or http://www.eps.gov/. Offerors will need to click on Solicitation 502-21-04 to download the documents. Pre-bid and walk through of the project time and location will be addressed in the solicitation. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will be available at this web address. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments; it is essential that offerors register electronically online at solicitation mailing list for this solicitation to receive notification of amendments. Requests for paper copies of plans and specifications must be requested in writing to Attn: Herman Chelette (90C), Contracting Officer or via fax (318) 483-5063, email requests not accepted. Award to be made based on price in accordance with formally advertised sealed bid procedures. It should be noted that unsuccessful offerors are required to return bid documents or be prepared to reimburse the VA for their cost. NAICS Code 236220 applies.
