- Description
- The Marine Corps System Command intends to award a sole source contract to Harris Corporation, RF Communication Division, 1680 University Avenue, Rochester NY 14610. The Marine Corps requires an organic remote control capability for Fifty-One AN/PRC-150 radios. The Marine Corps relies upon the HF tactical radio communications for medium and long-range voice/data communications to higher, adjacent and subordinate units. The capability to remote the much used AN/PRC-150 radio is limited and a possible solution to the equipment deficiency is the Harris RF-3045B Remote Control Unit. The RF-3045B is fully compatible with the AN/PRC-150 and will safisfy the AN/PRC-150 remote control need. The RF-3045B capabilities/specifications are: Remote Audio Control Functions, Transmitter Keying, Receiver Audio, Intercom (order wire), Call light/tone Volume control, Speaker On/Off,3-watt audio, 2-wire circuit test, low battery voltage level check, control distance, up to 5km range, power supply, BA-5590, BB-390, 12VDC power compatibility, Immersion, 3ft water immersion, Dimensions (Inches) 3.25HX8,63WX10.2D, Weight Single unit with handset and w/o battery: 4.25lbs, On RF-3045B Remote Control Unit included the following SL3 items: RF-3045B Remote Control Unit, Battery Box,Handset, Interconnecting cable to ratio, carrying bag, instruction and instruction manual. Harris is the only known source for this equipment. No Request for Proposal is available for competitive bidding, however interested parties are encourage to submit a statement of capability for satisfying this requirement. No telephonic requests will be accepted. All requests should be submitted in writing (via email) to the attention of the point of contact listed below. Information will be used solely to determine whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Note 22 applies.
