The United State Naval Academy (USNA) has a requirement for services at the Director of Research Office. These services are frequently required for support and related missions, Because these services directly support mission critical equipment and have a direct impact on scheduling which is special administrative tools used to support approval for engineering modifications to the Naval Academy that has been thoroughly researched and is vital to mission support and personnel by a Professor of Medical Radiation Physics and Director at the Centre for Medical Radiation Physics located at the University of Wollongong (Australia). This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1: Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services shall satisfy the agency?s requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five (45) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice or received as a result of a notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The procurement of this highly specialized service in a competitive basis will result in a duplication of cost and time to the government. Also under the authority of FAR 6.302-2 Unusual and compelling urgency. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Clin 0001 ? Develop the basic silicon sensor to be used in the project entitled ?MicroDosimeter Instrument (MIDN) System Suitable for Spaceflight?. Provide the USNA with sensors that can be integrated into the system electronics. Undertake studies to determine the sensors? responses to different radiation beams available in Australia. Carry out modifications to radiobiological models, the GEAMT 4 and other codes. Assist with the integration of all ascertained information into the simulations studies carried out by the U S project investigators. Clin 0001AA ? Salaries and Fringe Benefits. 1 Each. Clin 0001AB ? Miscellaneous Costs must be detailed out. 1 Lot. Clin 0001AC ? Supplies must be detailed out. 1 Lot. Note: TRAVEL COST SHALL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE ABOVE CLINS. This requirement?s period of performance shall run from date of award through 30 Sept 04. This solicitation shall close on Monday 12 Jull 2004, at 3:30 PM local time.
