Description
NAICS Code: 541710 The Gulf Ecology Division (GED) of the National Health and Environmental Research Laboratory (NHEERL), Office of Research and Development (ORD) at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking a college student to provide services under a contractual agreement to assist with coastal ecosystem studies. The student contractor must have completed a B.S. degree in biology, ecology, or environmental science within the past year or be a graduate student in a relevant area of study at an accredited college/university. The student contractor must be familiar with basic laboratory health and safety. The student contractor shall assist in developing quantitative relationships between nutrient loading and hypoxia in estuarine and coastal marine waters. All necessary instructions and training will be provided by Dr. Richard M. Greene, who will serve as the student mentor. The period of performance will begin approximately on August 20, 2004 and end approximately August 20, 2005. It is anticipated that the student contractor will work an average of 40 hours per week. The majority of the work will be Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The duty location is Gulf Ecology Division, 1 Sabine Island Drive, Gulf Breeze, FL 32561. Work will be primarily performed in a laboratory but some field work will be required.
