Description
Y--TECHNICAL SECURITY AREA, U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY, SAVANNAH RIVER SITE, SOUTH CAROLINA (Sources Sought, Request for Proposal (RFP) Date To Be Determined (TBD)) The U.S. Department of Energy intends to solicit and award a firm fixed-price contract to furnish all labor, materials, and equipment required to construct a Technical Security Area (TSA) and administrative office at the Savannah River Site near Aiken, South Carolina. This project will be constructed within the first floor of an existing administration building. The total area of new work covers approximately 2100 square feet. The main TSA covers approximately 1700 square feet consisting of a large conference room and several smaller offices. The administrative office covers approximately 400 square feet. The TSA scope consists of standard stud and multi-layer drywall construction, with insulation within the wall cavities to create a sound-rated wall system. Modifications to the existing building ceiling, lighting, power, communications, fire alarm/protection, and HVAC systems to accommodate the new construction are also included in the project. Special security requirements include the installation of acoustical doors and hardware, hand geometry units, and card reader units. The administrative office consists of standard drywall construction and minor modifications to the existing building power and fire protection systems. The estimated construction range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The duration of the project is estimated at 120 calendar days.
