- Description
- The United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), National Design, Construction, and Soil Machanics Center, located in Ft. Worth, Tx, announces the availability of funds and seeks proposals to develop and furnish Chapter 70, Design and Analyis of Risers, in the NRCS National Engineering Handbook (NEH), Part 636, Structural Engineering (NEH) 636.70, which will serve as a replacement to Technical Release 30 Structural Design of Standard Covered Risers. Technical Release 31- Structural Analysis and Design of Low-State Inlets, Technical Relear 37 - Structural Analysis and Design at Base of Risers with Conduit Openings in both Endwalls, Technical Relears 68 - Seismic Analysis of Risers and Design Note No. 17 - Some Comments on the Location of Riser-Conduit Articulation Joints. NEH 636.70 will serve as a handbook for use by NRCS personnel, contractors, partners,and other interested parties. Also, this request for proposals entails the development and provide a new computer program for design and analysis of risers in accordance with the certieria presented in NEH 636.70. This new program will replace a computer program based upon Technical Release 68 - Seismic Analysis of Risers. All mathematical details and examples shall be presented in both U.S. customary units and SI units, with the primary units being U.S. cstomary and the SI units as secondary. The estimated period for performance is 730 calendars days after contract award. The estimated cost of this request is between $100,000 and $175,000. Solicitation packages should be available approximately July 30, 2004. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded. All responsible sources may submit an offer which may be considered by the agency.
