- Description
- The Department of Commerce, NOAA, is seeking sources to develop sampling schemes for vessel cost and earnings in the Northeast Region for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). The NMFS Northeast Fisheries Science Center is responsible for the collection of economic and socio-cultural information about the fishing industry, its relation to the community and the impacts of regulations on that relationship. Central to much of this information is the measurement of firm-level profitability. This measure, on verage, determines the financial state of fishing firms and conveys much about resource rents, fleet efficiency and captitalization. The data required to accurately estimate vessel profitability are variable or trip cost data, fixed cost data and fishing revenue. The anticipated performance period is August 15, 2004 through June 30, 2005. Interested parties shall request the solicitation in writing.
