- This synopsis is for the following item. Item 0001 NSN: 5935-01-411-6300AL, APPLICABLE: LAU 128A/129A AMRAAM LAUNCHER. NOUN: Protective Cover, P/N: 654446-5. DIAMETER: APPROX 1.5 inches diameter x .885 inches thick. FUNCTION: Used to protect the AIM 120 Missile and/or Launcher Umbilical Connector. MATERIAL: Aluminum Alloy and Steel. DESTINATION: TBD. There is a MISSION ESSENTIAL QUANTITY of 51 each; PRODUCTION Quantity of 57 each and 3 out-year Options for 1-2000 each. Item 0002 (same as 0001): FIRST ARTICLE REQUIREMENTS, 10 each. DELIVERY: Basic Quantity, 6 months AFAA, First Article, 180 days after ARO. The approximate RFP issue date will be 2 August 2004 with the approximate response date of 2 September 2004. Electronic procedures will be used for this solicitation at www.fedbizopps.gov only. No telephone requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor will be acceptable. Written procedures will be used for this solicitation TO: Hirel Connectors, Inc., Claremont CA. (Cage 34222). Authority: 10USC 2304(c)(1), Justification: Supplies (or Services) required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible source(s) and no other type of supplies (or services) will satisfy agency requirements. All potential offerors shall contact the buyer/PCO identified above for additional information and or to communicate concerns, if any, concerning this acquisition. INSURANCE BUY: This acquisition will be processed in accordance with AFMC FAR Sup 5352.217-9006 (Award of Mission Essential Quantity): Authority 10USC 2304(c)(1).
