- Description
- Request for Information (RFI) on availability of an Automatic Sump Water Detection and Product Recovery System for Petroleum Above Ground Storage Tanks (AST). THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. The system should be Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) for water disposal and product recovery from the sump area of ASTs (installs would be at DoD sites within the Continental United States (CONUS)). It should be able to detect the presence of water in the sump, separate the water from the petroleum product and return the product to the AST; the separated water should be biodegradable and environmentally safe (to the extent this is achievable under current industry standards). The system must meet all National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and National Electric Code (NEC) requirements for a Class I, Division I, Group D hazardous location. The system should allow for remote display readout at the tank area and incorporate industry standard protocols for a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software platform that will interface with the DoD Fuels Manager software. The system should be robust and able to provide continuous water detection. Responses should include proposed method of installation. All interested parties are invited to provide commercial market and/or company information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought notice. Responses should include full company name and address, point of contact, telephone number and e-mail address. Responses may be submitted electronically, by facsimile, or by US Mail/overnight service to the attention of the Point of Contact, noted below; they should be received no later than 17 Aug 2004. Mailing address: Air Force Petroleum Office, 8725 John J. Kingman Rd, Stop 6232, Ft Belvoir VA 22060-6232.
