Description
The National Park Service is seeking contractor(s) to remove storm damaged trees and debris from within and along the park mow lines on eight sections of the Natchez Trace Parkway, a unit of the National Park Service. The contractor(s) will be required to remove all dead and downed material and either haul away to an approved disposal site or chip smaller debris. Stump removal is also part of this project, but no standing trees will be cut. There are eight project areas included in the solicitation and contractors may bid on any or all of the eight areas. Note that multiple awards may result from the solicitation. Due to the varying nature of the material to be removed, bidders are strongly urged to visit the sites prior to submitting a bid. Project Area #1 is located in the Meriwether Lewis, TN District, between mileposts 404.6 and 354.8. Damage in this district and the number of trees to be removed is considered to be moderate. Project Area #2 is located in the Cherokee, AL District, between mileposts 354.8 and 297.3. Damage in this district and the number of trees to be removed is considered to be heavy. Project Area #3 is located in the Tupelo, MS District, between mileposts 297.3 and 239.3. Damage in this district and the number of trees to be removed is considered to be light. Project Area #4 is located in the Dancy, MS District, between mileposts 239.3 and 193.0. Damage in this district and the number of trees to be removed is considered to be light. Project Area #5 is located in the Kosciusko, MS District, between mileposts 193.0 and 135.0. Damage in this district and the number of trees to be removed is considered to be light. Project Area #6 is located in the Ridgeland, MS District, between mileposts 135.0 and 100.0. Damage in this district and the number of trees to be removed is considered to be light. Project Area #7 is located in the Port Gibson, MS District, between mileposts 86.3 and 37.7. Damage in this district and the number of trees to be removed is considered to be moderate. Project Area #8 is located in the Natchez, MS District, between mileposts 37.7 and 8.0. Damage in this district and the number of trees to be removed is considered to be heavy. Contract award is anticipated to occur in time for operations to commence in early fall, 2004. Work shall be concluded within 120 days of the start date. Magnitude of this project is $100,000 to $500,000. This procurement is a 100% Small Business set-aside. The applicable NAICS code for this project is 113310 with a size standard of 500 employees. This Invitation for Bid, including attachments, will be available for download electronically at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about August 2, 2004.
