Classification: 65- Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Equipment and Supplies Subj: Synthes Trocanteric Fixation Nail System. RFQ: 598-279-04 Response Due: August 2, 2004 3:30 PM CST Point of Contact: Tomella Jones- Tomella.Jones@med.va.gov Description: Combined Synopsis/Solicitation: Intent to Award Sole Source The Central Arkansas Veterans Health Care System (CAVHS) intends to purchase on a sole source basis from Synthes, 1690 Russell Road, Paoli, PA 19301 a Trocanteric Fixation Nail System which has been evaluated by CAVHS Orthopedic Physicians as the preferred system for repair of fractured hips in care of geriatric patients. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements of this system must give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 10 days of the date of this publication. All determinations and findings resulting from responses to this notice, are entirely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no response is received, CAVHS will proceed with the intended sole source award. Phone calls will not be accepted.
