Description
The U.S. Department of State intends to issue a purchase order for the following items: Bullard Cool Vest, Isotherm 2, Qty: 105. Specifications for the Bullard Cool Vest (Isotherm 2) Cooling vest to be worn over personal protective equipment to allow emergency responders to work for longer periods in high heat. Shall use phase change technologies, not gels or ice packs, design shall be centered on maintaining a temperature of 55 degrees F, shall provide two hours cooling at 90 Degrees F, device shall use an easily adjustable mesh vest made to fit from medium to large sizes, shall be capable of completely recharging cooling ability in 20 minutes, shall be constructed of a flame retardant material, vest must be lightweight (less than 7 LBS), vest must not produce condensation during wear, and interchangeable cooling system with Front and back replaceable inserts. Line item # 2: Isothern replacement packs. Qty: 105 Specifications for the Isotherm replacement packs: No waiting. No down time. Keep extra cool packs ready for instant on-site changes; made of specially engineered plastic, Isotherm packs designed to expand up to 400% without damage. The cooling agent within the pack is a safe, non-toxic, and non-carcinogenic formulation. Cool packs may be re-energized thousands of times providing hours of safe, controlled body temperature management. Placed in a cooler of ice water, the cool packs will fully recharge in approximately 20 minutes. However, ice water is not necessary as the phase change technology actually begins recharging the packs whenever they are placed in an environment that is cooler than 55 degrees F. Certified ISO9001. This RFQ is 100% small business set-aside. Vendors must be able to delivery by 31 August 2004 to Sterling VA.
