- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT, FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) seeks information from firms capable of providing a Future Common Display System (FCDS) in support of the United States Navy. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this requirement is 334111 with a size standard of 500. The scope of work required would consist of the development and manufacture of a small family of common display consoles for Navy enterprise-wide application. These consoles would be primarily for use in new ship platforms but could be used in backfit applications as well. The requirement includes a Future Common Display that focuses on Human Systems Integration, that is facilitated by the use of an Open Architecture Computing Environment (OACE), that will service total ship combat and non-combat processing ne eds, and that can be utilized aboard any ship platform. THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF SOLICITATION ISSUANCE, BUT RATHER A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION from industry that will allow the Government to identify interested sources capable of meeting the requirement. The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) will host an industry day briefing at the Crystal City, VA Hilton, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on 4 August 2004, to describe the Government?s requirements for the Future Common Display System, and to answer questions from industry on the FCDS effort. Seating is limited, and therefore only individuals who pre-register will be guaranteed seating. Advance notification of attendance is required no later than the close of business on Friday July 30, 2004. The information sought herein is for planning purposes only and should not be construed as a request for proposal (RFP) or as any obligation or commitment on the part of the Government to acquire any product or service. There shall be no basis for claims against the Government as a result of any information submitted in response to this RFI. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise to pay for any information submitted by respondents to this request*****
