- Description
- NAICS Code: 512110 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) Office of Atmospheric Programs (OAP) Global Programs Division (GPD) Global Climate Information Branch (GCIB) intends to award a sole source fixed-price Purchase Order using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures to The Weather Channel (TWC) of Atlanta, GA. GCIB's goal is to communicate information about climate change, stratospheric ozone science, impacts, adaptation and climate policy. GCIB seeks to improve the quality and quantity of general environmental education and outreach programs. The purpose of this acquisition is to obtain support from TWC to produce a 30-minute video special on Heat and Human Health. Under this Purchase Order, TWC shall produce an outline of what factors contribute to heat-related health impacts, identify risks, highlight heat response strategies, and possible actions. In addition, TWC shall provide a script, rough cut, final production services and broadcasting for the video special. TWC is uniquely qualified to satisfy this requirement because it is the only channel that focuses programming solely on weather and environmentally-related information. In addition, it broadcasts to more than 82 million households and 95% of all cable TV homes in the U.S. and has established itself as the strongest electronic media brand among 24-hour access weather and environmentally-related information channels. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 512110. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement as stated herein may submit a response, which if received within 15 calendar days of the date of this announcement will be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
