- Description
- This solicitation will be made available for download from the FedBizOpps (check one): YES Text: The Marine Operations Center ? Pacific intends to procure for Simrad Brand name transducers and transceivers which are used throughout the NOAA Fleet for fisheries research. The transducers must not be a ?single ping? transducer, rather a Split Beam design that can identify the depth and intensity of bio-mass (fish) in the water column. This acoustic tool for fisheries improves efficiencies over more traditional fish sample trawling, permitting much wider fisheries surveys to be conducted. Simrad Brand name transducers are also required for NOAA to maintain consistency and to continue fisheries data acquisition and analytical evaluations. Three frequencies (38, 120, and 200 kHz) are used for acoustical species identification and target strength estimation. Simrad is the only known manufacturer of a split-beam scientific echosounder system that provides a simultaneous 1kW transmission at four frequencies, and a stable 140 dB re 1W receiver dynamic range, quadrature sampling, and both system control and data output via Ethernet. These features are required for compatibility with existing survey hardware and for data comparability with historical surveys. These features must be compatible with existing survey hardware (data logging and processing hardware and software, and hull mounted transducers with 60 Ohm input impedance). Delivery date will be no more than 30 days from date of contract award. This procurement is a 100% small business set-aside. All responsible, responsive offers will be considered. The NAICS code for this procurement is 334511 and the size standard is 750 employees. Interested offerors may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement in writing to Kristina Loesell, NOAA, WASC, 7600 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115, or via email at Kristina.M.Loesell@noaa.gov This notice may represent the only official notice of the intended contract award. See numbered note 1. Mandatory Clause: The Western Administrative Support Center, Acquisition Management Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this acquisition office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) before October 1, 2003. After this date, NO award can be made unless the vendor is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http:///www.ccr.gov/.
