- Description
- This Request for Proposals consists of conducting archeological evaluation of archeological sites 32MO300, 32MO1374 and 32MO1375 in Morton County, approximately nine miles north of Mandan, North Dakota along state highway 1806. The contractor shall sufficient excavatory field information gathering and analysis to make reasoned recommendations concerning the eligibility of the above listed sites for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places. A research design shall be submitted. The research design shall focus on strategies to be used to resolve the question of scientific or other types or degrees of importance pursuant to the established eligibility criteria and thus National Register eligibility. The contractor must possess: 1) relevant experience in archeological evaluation relative to National Register criteria in North Dakota, 2) knowledge of archeological and historic preservation research standards, 3) knowledge of regulatory requirements, 4) North Dakota professional organization evaluation guidelines and standards, 5) Advisory Council on Historic Preservation guidelines concerning archeological evaluation, and 6) be capable of providing and managing equipment, facilities and personnel. Services will be limited to the archeological evaluation of the three archeological sites listed above, inclusive of any necessary analysis, preparation of reasoned recommendations, and reporting all findings. Required expertise will include but may not be limited to archeological mapping, excavation planning and spatial organization, excavation and the keeping of appropriate excavation records, photographs, maps, drawings, diagrams, soils descriptions and the like. The contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, transportation, tools, supplies, equipment, materials, management, and supervision of field personnel. A North Dakota State Permit is required The anticipated date for receipt of proposals is on or approximately August 12, 2004.
