Description

CONSTRUCTION: This project consists of providing all materials, labor, transportation, and equipment to construct a complete Aircraft Rinse Facility. The Rinse Facility will consist of three trenches constructed below taxiway pavement in which three fabricated, six inch diameter, 316 stainless steel spray headers will be located. The Rinse Facility will be controlled by magnetic switch located in the taxiway pavement. All pumps and electrical equipment will located at a remote location approximately 500ft from the rinse area. Connection from the rinse area to the pump station will require three borings under Taxiway A (approximately 100ft). There will be an 8,000 gallon head tank for clear water storage and a 12,000 gallon waste tank sited remotely with the pump equipment. The flow rate of the system is approximately 1450gpm at 130psi at the spray headers. The water will be collected by the three trenches and piped through a sluicing gate to the remotely located oil and water separator and waste tank. From the waste tank, a 200gpm pump will transfer the waste water approximately 3000ft to an existing lift station. The spray pump and the sluicing gate will be triggered by the magnetic switch after a predetermined delay programmed into the controller. Make up water will be controlled by a level switch. The trenches shall be covered by ??, hot dipped galvanized plates. A new transformer will be required to provide power from nearby primary source. In conjunction with the rinse equipment, Taxiway C (approximately 525 feet long) is to be repaved using reinforced concrete (taxiway) and asphalt (shoulder). This includes replacement of approximately 330? of 42? diameter reinforced concrete pipe and installation of approximately 500? of 48? diameter reinforced concrete pipe with two new catch basins. Also included will be relocation of taxiway lighting. Magnitude of proposed construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The North American Industry Classification is 237310 and the size standard is $28,500,000. The solicitation package will be issued as a hubzone set-aside in the form of a request for proposal (RFP) utilizing performance price trade-off (PPT) procedures and will be made available for downloading from the internet Federal Business Opportunities web-site www.fedbizopps.gov on or around 9 Aug 04. Specifications and drawings will not be directly provided in a paper hard copy format. Notification of any changes to this solicitation (amendments) shall be made only on the internet. It is therefore the contractor's responsibility to check the above listed web address daily for any posted changes to this solicitation. Downloading from the internet is free of charge, however specifications and drawings may take a considerable amount of time to download. Telephone and fax requests will not be accepted.
