- The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command anticipates issuing a Research and Development solicitation for the design, development and integration of an Armed Robotic Vehicle (ARV) Robotic Technologies (ART) effort. The ARV Technologies In tegration effort is intended to integrate technologies, leveraged from Army and commercial sector developments, into a representative Future Combat Systems (FCS) Armed Robotic Vehicle (ARV) platform(s) and support demonstrations of these systems during fie ld tests. These platform(s) will be used as a step toward transitioning the ARV into the Future Combat System (FCS) System Development and Demonstration phase. The Government plans the selection of a contractor through the Best Value competitive source selection process. The Government contemplates awarding one Cost Plus Fixed Fee contract as a result of this requirement. Drafts of the Scope of Work (Section C), Instructions, Conditions and Notices to Offerors (Section L), Evaluation Factors for Awar d (Section M), and the Performance Specification will be available on the TACOM-Warren Webpage under Business Opportunities, Open Solicitations - Research and Development, Draft Solicitation Number W56HZV-04-R-0832. The Draft Section C, L, M and Performan ce Specification will be available approximately 23 July 2004. The webpage address is: http://contracting.tacom.army.mil/research/researchproc.html. At this time, the Government is soliciting comments/questions from Industry regarding the draft documents . Potential offerors may submit comments/questions to Ms. Kathy Lambert, Contract Specialist, lambertk@tacom.army.mil. The Government may, at it's discretion, post responses to questions/comments submitted by industry. If the Government does post respon ses they will be at the webpage cited above. The Government anticipates releasing the formal Request for Proposal late August 2004.
