Description
The work of this project consists of the construction of a vehicle wash bay addition to the Maintenance Building at the U.S. Army Reserve Center in Auburn, Maine. The addition abuts one of the gable ends of the existing Maintenance Building. The addi tion is approximately 83-feet by 27-feet, and 25-feet high. The building is a concrete block structure on a concrete slab, with a steel truss gable roof, metal and plywood roof deck, rigid insulation and asphalt roof shingles. There are overhead roll-up st eel doors on each end of the building to allow vehicles to enter one end and exit at the opposite end, and two personnel doors. The addition is unheated and the walls and other features are to remain unpainted. Associated work includes interior and exterio r electrical and mechanical work, excavation, bituminous concrete pavement, chain link fence construction, installing bollards, site drainage, and related items. This solicitation is 100% Set-Aside for HUBZone firms. Work shall be completed within 240 calendar days after receipt of a Notice to Proceed. The estimated cost of this work is between $150,000.00 to $250,000.00. The solicitation shall be made available via the Internet on or about 8/9/04. No paper copies of the solicitation or any amendments subsequently issued will be available. Prospective HUBZone bidders are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet to receive the solicitation. Registration instructions are available on the Internet at http://www.nae.usace.army.mil as well as the media by which the solicitation will be made available. Neither telephonic, mailed nor fax requests will be accepted. Those registering are responsi ble for the accuracy of the information on the mailing list. All responsible HUBZone sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the New England District.
