- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The following is a synopsis for commercial items prepared in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures, and supplemental information included in this notice. The quotation number is N00178-04-Q-1049 and is a request for quotation. This announcement constitutes the only quotation being issued. A written quotation will not be issued. All interested parties shall indicate their interest and capability w ith their fax quote at (540) 653-7088 and shall be considered by Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), 17320 Dahlgren Road, Dahlgren VA 22448-5100. All offerors must be advised that they must be active in the Central Contractor Registration database at http://www.ccr.gov before award can be made. The Government intends to procure, on a small business set-aside, the following items: A. Data Devices Analyzer Tape Management System (or equal), 1 each; B. One Year Maintenance Agreement, 1 lot. The following salient characteristics apply: (1) The analyzer management system must be able to certify the following media type: 10.5 inches IBM type reels, utilizing ? inches Tape; and (2) The analyzer management system must be able to certify media at the following density: 6250 bpi, and (3) The analyzer management system must be able to provide a hard copy of the t ape profile and (4) The analyzer management system must be able to clean as well as certify the media and (5) The analyzer management system must be able to detect and identify single dropouts and multi-track errors and (6) The analyzer management system must include a one year maintenance agreement. Quotations should include the following (1) a written assertion that that the proposed Analyzer Tape Management System has the above salient characteristics and (2) proposed maintenance agreement. Any contractor submitting a quotation for an equal to the brand name identified above must provide clear and convincing information, including product literature, that the proposed product is an equal. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334119 with a size standard of 1000 employees. This is a small business set-aside. The contract shall be a firm fixed pri ce order. Delivery shall be made within thirty days of award to Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, 17320 Dahlgren Road, Dahlgren, Virginia, 22448. FOB Destination Shall applies. Offer is due 30 July 2004 no later than 2 p.m. (local NSWCDD time). The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, has implemented Electronic Commerce (EC) in the acquisition area; therefore, the synopsis with any applicable amendments will be available on the World Wide Web at http://www.nswc.navy.mil/supply. Hard copies will not be provided. Vendors should regularly access the NSWCDD Web site to ensure that they have downloa ded all amendments. Anticipated award date by 05 August 2004.
