Description

THE PURPOSE OF THIS AMENDMENT IS TO EXTEND THE BID OPENING DATE TO SEPTEMBER 2, 2004 AT 2:00 PM (CST) AND TO REVISE THE DATE THE IFB SOLICITATION PACKAGES WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ON OR ABOUT AUGUST 4, 2004. United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Midwest Area has a project entitled Replace Existing Gas Main at the USDA Avian Disease and Oncology Research Facility, East Lansing, MI. The work includes but is not limited to: furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work for the replacement of approximately 7,015 feet of existing gas mains and laterals up to and including the regulators, and replacing 3 gas meters. The period of performance is 90 calendar days. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the Specifications and Drawings. Bonding will be required. Estimated price range is: Between $100,000 and $250,000. This acquisition will be procured as a full and open competition under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The NAICS code is 237120 and the annual size standard is 28.5 million. This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB). The solicitation packages may be requested, free of charge, by mail, fax, or e-mail to: sharrell@barr.com, Fax: (734) 327-1212, or Barr Engineering, Inc., 450 S. Wagner Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Susan Harrell, Barr Engineering, is the contact for this solicitation. All requests for a solicitation package must reference IFB No. 5114-4-1500 and the contact name above. No telephone requests for the solicitation package will be accepted. All responsible and qualified sources may submit a bid that will be considered by the agency. A pre-bid site visit will be scheduled and information provided in the solicitation package. This will be the only opportunity to visit the job site prior to submission of bid. The anticipated IFB solicitation package will be available on or about August 4, 2004.
