Description
The Northern Region Contracting Center, Installatin Division, will be issuing solicitation W91QF1-04-R-0024 on or about 7 August 2004 for the replacement of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for building 185 located at Fort Monro e, VA. The contractor shall provide all plant, labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and supervision necessary to replace the HVAC system at building 185, Fort Monroe, Virginia. The job includes a 90 day performance period. The North American Indu stry Classification code applicable to this requirement is 238220. This procurement is being issued on an unrestricted basis. The contractor shall have all necessary equipment and material on hand prior to the beginning date. The work shall be accomplis hed in accordance with a prearranged schedule submitted by the contractor and approved by the Contracting Officer. The schedule shall show the date that the work is to commence in each area, and the length of time required to complete work in that area, i n order that the occupants may be notified. Inasmuch as this installation observes a normal 5-day, 40 hour, workweek Monday through Friday, the contractor shall schedule his working hours to coincide with the working hours of the installation. No contrac t work shall be performed during other days, holidays as proclaimed by Executive Order, or during other hours without prior written authority of the Contracting Officer or his designated representative. The building contains chillers, pumps, boilers, and other equipment that may be operational during construction of this project. The contractor shall make provisions for the heating/cooling system to remain operational throughout the construction as weather conditions require. All equipment and debris sh all be removed from the building as each item is completed and the site shall be left neat and clean. Such material shall become the property of the contractor and shall be removed from the installation at the end of the work day. The contractor shall co nform to all safety regulations and requirements in effect covering such premises at all times during the performance of this contract. Applicable requirements and regulations include those issued by the Commanding Officer of Fort Monroe, Virginia; those included in the US Army Corps of Engineers Manual 385-1-1; and those included in or issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (P.L. 91-956). The contractor shall take all necessary steps and precautions to prevent accidents and pre serve life and health of the contractor and the government employees performing or in any way coming into contact with the performance of this contract. The job site shall be cleaned and made free of all debris and other by-products of construction at the close of each day.
