- NAICS Code: 334516 The U.S. EPA intends to negotiate for the National Risk Management Research Laboratory, located in Research Triangle Park, NC, on a sole source basis with NuAire, Inc. for the purchase of Biological Safety Cabinets. The specifications of the cabinets are as follows: 1) Entire unit is composed of two separate cabinets jointed together with a 12" by 12" Stainless Steel pass through connection with double gasketed doors. 2) Minimum internal work area height of 36 inches in each cabinet. 3) Minimum internal work area width of 64 1/8 inches in each cabinet. 4) Minimum internal work area depth of 30 7/8 inches in each cabinet. 5) Internal exposed construction of work area of Stainless Steel. 6) Overall width of the entire installed assembled unit cannot be greater that 150 inches. 7) Separate power connections (for isolated circuits) for double duplex outlets in each cabinet. 8) Vertical sliding 1/4" glass door. 9) Maximum depth of unit (front to back) cannot exceed 60" 10) Stainless Steel exhaust plenum provided to connect to local exhaust. 11) Total exhaust output will be 3500 CFM (+/- 5%) @ 1.0 Inches of Water. 12) Overhead UV Lamps provided for internal work area. 13) Water, gas, vacuum and Air stopcock valves installed. 14) To be shipped disassembled with directions for assembly provided. This notice is not a request for quotations. EPA source research indicates NuAire Inc. is the only known source able to satisfy the government's requirements. Since the laboratory currently contains NuAire cabinets that have been specially designed for microbial chamber experiments involving ozone and heat, NuAire is the only known source capable of supplying compatible cabinets. However, any firm believing itself capable of meeting EPA requirements may submit technical documentation to establish the potential of supplying such cabinets. Any such documentation must be submitted within 15 days of electronic posting of this notice (before Tuesday August 10, 2004 at 2:00 AM EST). A determination not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or to proceed on a sole source basis. This acquisition is being processed under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The applicable NAICS code is 334516.
