Description

Notice of availability of a prospectus for solicitation of proposals for transportation services on Alcatraz Island within Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Operations are year around. The annual gross receipts for 2002 were $11,250,891. In accordance with 36 CFR, Part 51, subparts E and F, the existing concessioner is not a preferred offeror for the purpose of granting a preferential right to renewal of the existing contract because annual gross receipts are expected to be more than $500,000 in the first 12 months. The prospectus will explain the business opportunity and terms and conditions under which the National Park Service will award the concession contract. The length of the new contract will be for ten (10) years. Any offer, including that of the existing concessioner, must be received by the Chief of Concessions, National Park Service, Pacific West Region, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607 no later than one hundred twenty (120) days after the date of publication of this notice in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a concession contract to provide services at Alcatraz Island in Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The prospectus will be available July 27, 2004 with proposals due on November 24, 2004 no later than 4:00 p.m. There is a printing cost recovery charge of $50 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $40 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; you must include a business address (no post office box) and telephone number to receive a Federal express package.
