- To propose the solution architecture we need to know the following: 1. The infrastructure available to the web logs analysis tool in terms of: a.) What is the configuration of the hardware that the tool will be deployed on (Memory, Number of Processors, Processor Speed, Hard disk space etc?) 3 Solaris OS SUN v880 8 processors 32gig memory, 500gig, 2) HP ML350 4 processors, 3gig memory and 500gig. b.) What is the operating system that the tool will be running on? Microsoft Windows XP, 2000 and 2003. c.) Will the machine be dedicated solely to the web logs analysis tool? Yes. d. Will the tool have access to download logs from the web servers using FTP or HTTP? YES - utilizing secure copy. e.) Will the aforementioned access be over a local area network? Yes. NOTE: If required, can we can provide recommendations regarding the above? YES. 2.) What is the approximate number of sites that the tool will be monitoring? Three. 3.) What is the total number of web servers involved? Currently 7 planning on nine (9). 4.) What is the maximum number of web servers serving a site? Three. 5.) Would the customer require a backup instance of the tool on a physically different machine as a part of a Disaster Recovery plan? Yes
