- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends purchasing, on a sole source basis, from Suburban Surgical Steel, Co., Inc, 275 Twelfth St, Wheeling, IL 60090-2796, the following stainless steel suspended primate cage/rack units. This is a combined Synopsis/Solicitation for Commercial Items 2004-Q-01571 prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this Notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. The following provision(s) apply to this acquisition: 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items (MAR 2000) 52.204-7 Central Contracting Registration (OCT 2003), 52.212-2 Evaluation-Commercial Items (JAN 1999), 52.212-4 Contract Terms & Conditions-Commercial Items (MAY 1999), 52.247-35 F.O.B. Deatination, 52.212-5 Contract Terms & Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items apply to this procurement. The authority for this sole source procurement is FAR part 6.302-1. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Vendors who believe they can provide the required primate cages are encouraged to identify themselves and give FAX: 404-638-5456 / 770-488-2847 or email srw1@cdc.gov notification to Shirli R. Wall within 15 days from the publication date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement is based on responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining the conduction of a competitive procurement. each unit consists of : four (4) modified #10019-XX stainless steel keyhole suspended primate cages, 6.1 sq ft floor area. 32"inside animal height. solid sides & back w/3. No cardholders or squeezebacks included. approximately 35.048"w x 31.625"d x 32,648" overall and 1 modified #104133.xx stainless steel mobile angular rack for 6.1 sq ft keyhole suspended primate cages . capacity 4 cages, 2w x 2ft removable collections pans. 5' diameter high temperature phenolic wheel stainless steel swival caster w/grease fittings two w/brakes. Edstrom stainless steel water system, "O" configuration w/#A-143 valves, stainless stell, QD drain & vent.78.875"W 33,000" D 83.500" overall (approx) keyholes & obround water hole. top, front & bottom grill, sliding door (opening to allow entry of 8'.75" dia. customer supplied tube. removable locking feeder #201511, pan runners. 162" wire grill on front & top, 2" center to center on wires for vertical spacing, 50" clear spacing between wires on horizontal spacing. 162" wire grill on bottom. 1" center-to-center on wires for front or back spacing . 50" clear spacing between wires on horizontal spacing. 162" wire grill on bottom: 1" center to center on wires for front to back spacing, 50" clear spacing between wires on side-to-side spacing 2/dual roll perch approximately half-way up on left side of cage (approximately 6" from left side of cage) These cages and racks are a modification of product number 100193-xx and to meet the requirements in Title9- Animal Welfare Act. The guide for the care and use of laboratory animals, and the OLAW-USPHS Assurance. The modifications include but are not limited to the following: Sliding door, opening must be NLT 9" (Guillotine type doors are not acceptable) Wire size, 162" dia.
