NA 1.. Question: Line item 0001: How many users are in TIMS Network Local and remote users? Response: Tims network This is answered in Amendment 0002. Users are both local and remote. 2. Question: Line item 0001: Are there any other users in Volpe Center who might access this network If so, how many? Response: TIMS users at the Volpe Center are part of the TIMS network. At the Volpe Center there are approximately 15-20 TIMS users. 3. Question, Line item 0001: What is the method of current connection (i.e. VPN, RAS, Dialup, or Citrix)? Response: The connection method includes TCP/IP, VPN, Dialup, Citrix, and Microsoft Terminal Services. 4.Question Line item 0001: Number of routers, firewall, switches and hubs need to be monitored and updated with patches? Response: This was answered in Amendment 0002. 5. Question Line item 0001: How many servers? How many desktops? How many laptops? Response: TIMS access is primarily provided via thin client computing (Microsoft Terminal Services and Citrix). Currently this environment is made up of 5-7 servers. Desktop and laptop support is not required for this task. 6. Question Line item 0001: What operating systems are running on servers and desktops? Response: Refer to #5 above. 7. Question Line item 0001: What type of Database (i.e. Oracle, SQL, DB, or MS Access)? Response: No database support is required for this task. 8. Question Line item 0001: How many users on TIMS WAN? Response: This was addressed in # 1 above. 9. Question, Line item 0001: Would we have access to the facility after hours to make updates to the se rvers and network components? Response: Yes, if necessary. 10. Question, Line item 0002: Do they have any current tools to monitor servers up times and/or user access performance? Response:Yes. 11. Question, Line item 0002: What OS version they are running on the servers? Response: Sun Solaris, Microsoft Terminal Services, and Citrix. 12. Question, Line item 0003:. How many total sites need router updates How many ETMS sites are there? Response: All sites require router upgrades. There are approximately 85 ETMS field site.13. Question, Line item 0003: What are the locations (addresses)? Response: This is not applicable. All support is remote. 14. Question Line item 0003: Do the router upgrades happen at one site or all different sites? Response: All ETMS field sites require a router upgrade. The upgrade process will be supported from the Volpe Center. 15. Question, Line item 0004: How many windows 2003 servers will be there? Response: One. 16. Question, Line item 0004: How many users will be accessing these servers? Response: 15-20. 17. Question, Line item 0005: What is the current firewall system Cisco Pix, Nokia, Checkpoint or any other? Response: This is sensitive information pertaining to the security of the Volpe center. 18. Question: In you addendum dated 7/28/04, you referring to as Evaluation Report in the Past Performance section 4b. Is it self evaluation or Client evaluation. If it is the Client evaluation, we require some furture time to furnish this information. Response: It is not self evaluation, written Past Performance reports are from the clients. 19. Question: Are proposals submitted by e-mail and then followed up with hard copy acceptable? Response: Yes, deliver e-mail to kellyj@volpe.dot.gov. The hard copy must arrive the next business day after proposals are due. 20. No further questions will be accepted regarding this solicitation. 21. Proposals remain due by 4:30Pm EDT, July 30, 2004.
