Description

The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive C, Pittsburgh, PA 15240 has a requirement to provide renovations for Project 646-03-114U, "Replace AHU-Cafeteria". Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures and contractor shall provide all travel, labor, materials, tools, instruments, supervision and all other items as necessary to perform work for this project. Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, asbestos abatement, general construction, alterations, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electrical work, utility systems, and necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items, in compliance with the specifications and drawings of the solicitation and in accordance with all applicable rules, standards and regulations necessary to complete the work specified. Project completion time is 120 calendar days. Air Handling Units cannot be replaed until AFTER the cooling season. The construction cost range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The applicable NAICS code is 235110 with the small business size standard of 12M. A prebid conference is tentatively scheduled for August 25, 2004. While not mandatory, all bidders are strongly encouraged to attend. Bid opening is tentatively scheduled for September 14, 2004 at 2:00PM in the A&MM Conference Room, 373E, Third Floor, Building #4 at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Solicitation is unrestricted and open to both large and small businesses. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency if received timely.
