- Description
- The Okanogan and Wenatchee National Forest is seeking proposals for the reconstruction of 8.4 km of Forest Service recreation trail on the Methow Valley Ranger District. Work includes existing trail restoration, grade dips, switchbacks, waterbars, turnpikes, culvert installation, root and rock removal, logging out, hazard tree felling, trail closure, trail relocation. Trail is outside Wilderness, so motorized equipment will be allowed. Blasting may be required. Contractor shall be licensed in State of Washington, Labor and Industries, to conduct blasting. The project can be reached from Winthrop, Okanogan County, Washington, by northwest on Highway 20 approximately 15 miles to the Mazama cutoff road. Follow cutoff road approximately ? mile to County Road 9140. Turn left on this road, following it until it turns into forest road 5400. Follow this road to intersection with 5400-060. Follow 5400-060 to Rattlesnake Trailhead. Follow the West Fork Methow Trail approximately 2 ? miles to the Trout Creek Bridge. The project begins at the west end of the bridge and continues on the West Fork Methow Trail through the Needle Creek Fire, approximately 8.4 kilometers. All work completed by September 15, 2005. Estimated price range is between $25,000 to $100,000. 100% Payment Bond or Letter of Credit due after award.
