Description
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will host its Fifth Annual National Small Business Conference on July 6-9, 2004, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Philadelphia Marriott-Downtown. The purpose of the conference is to reach out to small businesses -- including Small Disadvantaged, Women-owned, 8(A), HUB Zone and Service-Disabled Veteran-owned businesses -- to assist them in contracting with DOE. The conference plays a major role in providing procurement guidance and contracting opportunities to small business. The conference will bring together representatives of the Department, its prime contractors, our network of National Laboratories, and several other Federal agencies to provide valuable information about business lines and upcoming contracting opportunities at DOE and at other agencies as well. The Department continues to be committed to fully engaging small businesses, including small disadvantaged, 8(a), women-owned businesses, HUB Zone, and Service-Disabled Veteran-owned small business concerns, in DOE's core missions. DOE has exciting opportunities to offer small businesses in the areas of commodities, administrative services, science, security, and environmental quality and energy resources. Features of this year?s conference include: -- Plenary sessions with prominent government, corporate, and business leaders; -- A business exposition that will allow businesses to showcase their products and services to the hundreds of government and business attendees; and, -- A Matchmaking Forum that will provide a unique opportunity to schedule one-on-one meetings with procurement representatives from DOE?s prime contractors and share in over $300 million of possible subcontracting opportunities within Fiscal Year 2004. DOE has received positive reviews on the previous conferences. This year's conference will continue to provide the essential information and guidance needed to do business with the Department. It is through outreach activities such as this that the Department finds small businesses with the capabilities to match its contracting opportunities. For more information or to register, please visit the conference website at http://www.smallbusiness-outreach.doe.gov/ (please cut and paste this link in your browser if clinking on it does not work). DOE looks forward to your participation.
