Description
This requirement is being advertised as full and open competition. Miami VA Healthcare System, located at 1201 NW 16th Street, Miami, FL 33125, has a requirement for a Window Replacement Project ? Phase 1. Contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, supplies and supervision to perform work to accomplish the removal of existing windows, as indicated on drawings, install impact-resistant windows where indicated on the drawings, repair any damage to existing building structure or fa?ade caused by window removal and installation and seal window perimeter. Award of this project will be based on the best value approach considering technical evaluation factors and price. General Contractor must submit with their offer proof, in the for of a certificate, that an OSHA certified ?competent person? (29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2) will maintain presence at the work site whenever the general or subcontractors are present. The NAICS Code is 233320 and the size standard is $28.5 Million. Estimated Construction range is between $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.00. The awarded contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work within 485 calendar days for the base bid. Deduct alternates will have a sliding scale on calendar days for completion of work. Offerors must provide a price for the base bid and each of the deduct alternates. Provisions of the solicitation will include an amount for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work within the awarded time. Bid Bond will be required, along with Performance and Payment bonds. In order to comply with the Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996, all contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be considered for award of a Federal contract. RFP will be available, on or about, August 18, 2004. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for August 25th at 10:00 AM. The pre-bid conference will be located in Bldg. #1, Room 2A157, A&MM Service Conference Room. Solicitation, specifications and drawings will issue on compact disk. Drawings can be opened on Autocad 2002-2004. A total 25 sets of CD?s will be issued to General Contractors on a first come first serve basis. Request for the CD?s must be in writing to the Contracting Officer, on Company letterhead which includes a point of contact, address, phone and FAX numbers and an e-mail address. NO HARD COPIES OF THIS RFP ARE AVAILABLE. TELEPHONE REQUEST WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining any amendments issued.
