Please limit attendance to two representatives from your firm. Purpose: To conduct an information briefing and dialogue on the Department of the Army??????s Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) enterprise compliance reporting database (CRD2). CRD2 provides the Army with the IA status of information technology (IT) assets worldwide. The CRD2 is designed to be security tool independent, capable of interfacing/receiving data with multiple scanning, remediation, and configuration management tools. It uses a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 relational databas e to collect asset (workstation, server, router, switch, etc) level information throughout the Army. CRD2 is designed using Microsoft .NET and is web service (XML) capable. CRD2 tracks Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) compliance, IA perso nnel training, asset inventory information down to the service pack/patch level, and provides reports based on command and technical spans of control. In addition, a second version of the CRD2 is maintained for assets on the SIPRNet. Vendors with scanning, patch management/remediation and asset inventory tools who want to interface their products with the CRD2 are welcome to attend this information meeting on September 8, 2004 from 0830 to 1200 (noon). The Army Information Assurance Di rectorate (IAD) will provide an overview brief on the Army??????s IAVM program, and then present technical briefs on the CRD2 code structure. In addition, IAD will provide vendors with a CRD2 configuration document consisting of web services/XML field inf ormation to assist vendors who desire to construct an interface to CRD2.
